All three divided the remaining money among themselves and each person was left with only 32 yuan (Rs 382). All three separated from each other and went their separate ways. But shortly after, the police arrested Liu’s accomplice. Liu knew that through an accomplice, the police would reach him easily. That’s why he was afraid of getting arrested. He didn’t want to go to jail. So he decided to run away.
The person went away from the family to live in the jungles
Instead of spending his life in jail, he decided to build his own prison and be imprisoned in it. By own prison, we don’t mean a real prison, rather, Liu decided that he would hide in a cave for a few days to avoid the police. Soon the days started passing and the person spent not 1-2, but whole 14 years in that cave.
Surrendered after living in the cave for 14 years
He used to come out of the cave in between, go to his village for 10-15 minutes and steal vegetables like potatoes and tomatoes and also meet his family. But when someone else saw him, he would inform the police, after which he would have to run away again. The man spent 14 years in a cave located in the forests, 10 kilometers away from the population. He was completely alone. There were only a few stray dogs with him, with the help of which he used to protect himself from wild animals. Away from family, father’s last rites, son’s wedding and grandson’s face were also seen there. Fed up with his life, he handed himself over to the police earlier this year. The irony is that the man has spent 14 years in his own prison, but now he will be tried by the court and if convicted, he will be imprisoned for 3 years, whereas if it is proved that the weapon was used in the theft So his sentence will be reduced to 10 years.
